Who we are

Started by Jamie. Grown into a team.

JD Plumbing Farnham began in 2007, when Jamie Daltrey went out on his own as a sole trader. Nearly twenty years later it has grown into a trusted network based at Badshot Lea, just outside Farnham — Jamie plus the tilers, plasterers, electricians and decorators he has worked alongside for years, carrying more than fifty years of combined experience between them.

The work runs from the everyday to the ambitious: leaking radiators, dripping taps, cracked pipes, toilet and shower repairs, new sinks, taps and radiators, shower pumps, cylinders and unvented Megaflo systems, underfloor heating and water filters. And then the bigger installs — full bathrooms, walk-in wet rooms, en-suites, downstairs cloakrooms and shower rooms, kitchens, and freestanding baths — each designed with you and fitted properly.

The thing customers single out is the way the bigger jobs are run. Rather than one generalist fitter rushing every stage, Jamie brings in the specialist who does that trade all day — a dedicated tiler, a proper plasterer, a qualified electrician, a decorator — and coordinates them around the plumbing. As one reviewer put it, “you get much better quality and attention to detail than you would from the do-it-all fitters employed by a chain.”

Pricing is kept honest: a clear quote before work starts, no concealed call-out fees, and emergencies at an agreed flat rate. Old units are removed and taken away, the place is left clean and tidy, and everything JD Plumbing fits carries a full 12-month guarantee on labour and installation.

But the clearest picture of the firm is in the reviews. On Checkatrade — which vets its members and verifies every review — the score sits at 9.68 across 383-plus jobs, alongside 4.9 on Google. Honest, hardworking, fair on price, and, as customers keep saying, a firm that genuinely takes pride in the finished result.

What stands behind the work

The trust, in plain English.

Proven & trusted

  • Checkatrade rated 9.68 from 383+ reviews

Checkatrade independently verifies reviews and vets its members, so a score of 9.68 across 383-plus jobs isn't marketing — it's what hundreds of Farnham-area homeowners have actually scored our work, reliability and tidiness.

  • Established 2007

Jamie Daltrey started JD Plumbing as a sole trader in 2007 and has been working across Farnham and the surrounding towns ever since — nearly two decades of local reputation you can check before you book.

  • 50+ years' combined experience

Between Jamie and the trusted team and specialists he works with, there's over fifty years of hands-on plumbing and installation experience on the tools — there's very little we haven't fixed or fitted before.

Straight with you

  • 12-month guarantee on all work

All our labour and installations are covered by a full 12-month guarantee. It's the simplest sign that we stand behind what we fit — and that we'd rather do it once, properly, than be called back.

  • No concealed call-out fees

You're told the cost before work starts, emergencies included. No vague hourly guesswork and no surprise line on the final bill — reviewers repeatedly describe our pricing as fair and upfront.

  • Specialists, not generalists

For bathrooms, kitchens and wet rooms we bring in dedicated tilers, plasterers, electricians and decorators — so you get the finish and attention to detail you'd never get from the do-it-all fitters a chain sends round.

What all this means for you

Put simply: you're booking a firm you can check before you commit, priced without hidden fees, that puts a specialist on each part of the job and stands behind the result for a full year. It's the boring detail behind the “honest” and “proper job” that the reviews keep mentioning.

Care & aftercare guide

Keeping a new bathroom right for years.

A few small habits keep a new bathroom, wet room or heating system in the condition we left it. Here's what Jamie suggests keeping an eye on.

Silicone & seals

The silicone around a bath, shower tray or wet-room floor is the first line of defence. Wipe it dry after use where you can, and if you ever see it lift or blacken, tell us — a five-minute reseal now beats water getting behind the tiles later.

Wet-room drainage

Lift and clear the drain grate in a wet room every few weeks so hair and residue don’t slow the fall. A wet room lives or dies by its drainage, so keeping the outlet clear keeps the floor doing its job.

Shower pump & flow

If a pumped shower starts to whine, surge or lose pressure, don’t wait for it to fail completely — an early call means a straightforward pump swap rather than a mid-shower breakdown.

Radiators & underfloor heat

Cold patches at the top of a radiator mean trapped air — a quick bleed restores even heat and saves energy. Run underfloor heating briefly even in summer so the manifold valves don’t seize while they sit idle.

What clients say

Every star earned on the job.

Jamie did a great job - He brings in specialists for each part (tiling, plastering, electricians & decorators), so you get much better quality/attention to detail than you would get from the do it all fitters employed by a chain! Very happy with the finished result.

Absolutely brilliant service. Honest, hardworking, and genuinely cares about doing a proper job. The work was completed quickly, everything was left clean and tidy, and the price was very fair. You can tell they take pride in their work. Would 100% recommend.

Jamie turned up on time, completed the job to a high spec, we were really pleased with the result. We had 3 new sinks fitted and a new radiator, he took all old units away - would fully recommend.

Matt Coles · via Google

Jamie did a great job of installing our water filter, including sorting out someone to drill a hole in our kitchen worktop. He was friendly, reasonably priced and able to come to do the job quickly. Would highly recommend.
